The Basalt project was a high-end 18-floor architectural residential development project in Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast.
The development has been is been planned to meet the market demands and popularity of the Costal residential living demand in South-East Queensland off fed by the “lifestyle” migration into the market.
Spyre Group and DKO Architects have developed the architectural design to meet buyer and market expectations open plan living, which was challenged by narrow site with restrictive vehicle requirements.
PTG Consulting were engaged to develop structural engineering design for the Development Approval submission.
The site constraints required an innovative structural design in order to facilitate traffic and vehicle movements throughout the foyer and entry.
We developed a column-less solution to the street façade, incorporating cantilevered outrigger walls of the liftcore structures which were used to support the western portion of the tower.
PTG Consulting completed a detailed finite element analysis modelling in order to validate the complex engineering solution for the project.
